Heritage is working in partnership with the Community Storehouse,  to provide simple meals and reading opportunities to children every Monday-Thursday this summer. We are looking for people to serve as volunteers one or more days a week to pack meals at Heritage and distribute them at designated sites. At the distribution site, we will also offer children books and offer to read and build relationships with them. Needs for this pilot program include new and/or gently used books, food (see attached list), and volunteers. Volunteers age 13+ must complete a volunteer background and application form through Community Storehouse. Cost for the background check is $12.:

What: Serve fresh lunches and provide books to underprivileged children

Where: North Riverside Elementary & Garden Gate apartments

Who: Anyone

When: M-T, June 12- July 27 (except July 4)

Needs: Book & food donations, volunteers - lunch preppers & lunch distributors

That's it! Your simple act of kindness will directly help families in our community this summer.
