Jim Hackney - Senior Minister
Jim was born and reared in Haskell County in Texas where he began preaching at age fourteen and preached on assignment throughout high school and college. He preached two years for the Benjamin Church of Christ in Benjamin, Texas while completing his undergraduate degree. He attended Abilene Christian University where he graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Bible in 1969. From college he entered the field of Youth Ministry where he remained for the next eight years serving the Missouri Street Church in Baytown, Texas and the Garland Road Church in Dallas. He began full-time pulpit work in 1977 when he accepted that position at the Overland Church of Christ in St. Louis, Missouri. Since 1979 he has served the Midtown Church of Christ (now Heritage Church of Christ) in Fort Worth. He has done graduate work at Oklahoma Christian University and Abilene Christian University where he received his Master's Degree in Biblical and Related Studies in May, 1995. He has spoken at many workshops, youth rallies, revivals and seminars across the nation. His passion is preaching and teaching God's Word. He has preached in twenty-five states and two foreign countries and has appeared on programs at five Christian Universities. He is married to Sue Hackney, who writes a weekly encouragement email entitled "HeartLift," which is widely distributed. She also teaches a weekly ladies class at Heritage. She is the bookkeeper for Paul Miller Custom Pools in Keller. They have two children and three grandchildren.

David Rogers - Congregational Care
Upon graduation from Abilene Christian University, David and his wife, Nancy, came to Fort Worth to work with what has now become Heritage Church of Christ. After serving first as Minister of Education (Master of Science, Major in Religious Education), and later as Congregational Care Minister (primarily a ministry to the ill, bereaved, homebound, and nursing home residents), David now serves on a part-time basis as Congregational Care Minister. David and Nancy have a son and daughter-in-law and three grandchildren in Arlington, Texas.

Brock Paulk - Youth Minister
Brock has worked with students in youth ministry since 1999 through internships and full-time ministry positions in different parts of Texas. He has helped lead numerous camps, retreats, and youth rallies throughout Texas, Oklahoma, and Colorado. He previously sat on the planning committee for Soul Link, which is a youth conference produced by the Houston Area Church of Christ Youth Ministries. Brock has also participated in and helped lead mission trips in Texas, New Mexico, Missouri, Colorado, Honduras, and El Salvador. Brock met his wife, Sarah, in 2000 while attending Abilene Christian University where Brock received his Bachelor of Science degree in Youth Ministry in 2002. They were engaged late in 2004 while Brock in his third year of service as youth minister in the Alvin Church of Christ in Alvin, TX. Brock and Sarah married in April 2005. After serving as the Youth Minister for three years at Alvin, Brock was brought on staff at Heritage in 2005. He is currently a degree candidate in the Master of Arts in Christian Ministry program at Abilene Christian University. Brock's hobbies include going for walks and bike rides with his wife, fishing, hunting, golf and reading.

David Trice - Family Minister
David spent the majority of his childhood years in Simonton, Texas, a small community in Fort Bend County west of Houston. From 1990-1991, while pursuing his undergraduate degree, he served as a campus ministry intern for the Christian Campus Center at the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA), and in the following years he worked in management for an optical company while completing his degree. In 1995, David joined the U.S. Army and served in Germany and Bosnia as a combat medic. Upon returning stateside, he met his wife, Leigh Ann, at the Heritage congregation (then called Midtown) and they married in March of 1999. David became a part of the Heritage staff in February of 2000 ministering to single adults, including college ministry, divorce recovery, and ministry to single parents. In 2006 he transitioned into Family Ministry where he desires to strengthen marital bonds, parent/child relationships, and ministry opportunities for families. David has a BA in Education from UTA, and a M.Ed. in Counseling from the University of North Texas. His greatest joys in life are his wife, Leigh Ann, his two sons, Caden and Laken, golf and other outdoor activities, watching hockey, reading, and traveling.

Jack Hicks - Small Groups Minister
Jack Hicks is a native Texan, having lived in San Antonio from birth until his junior year in college, at which time he transferred to the University of Texas in Austin, where he was graduated in 1967 with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. That summer he married Linda Tidwell, from Ft. Worth - also a UT graduate - and that Fall the two moved to Abilene, Texas where Jack spent the next three years finishing a Master of Divinity Degree at Abilene Christian University. Jack began a long career in ministry in the Fall of 1970, 27 years of which were spent preaching for churches in Colorado, Illinois and Texas.

Since 1997, Jack has been concentrating his ministry efforts in the area of church infrastructure, including small groups ministry. His passion for small groups first surfaced in 1988, when he installed his first small groups ministry system in the church he was serving in Chicago. Since that time, Jack has begun small groups in 3 more churches and trained facilitators in several others. He came to Heritage as Minister of Small Groups in March of 2005. Since that time, the Heritage small groups system has been overhauled and revitalized, with congregational participation rising dramatically.

Jack and Linda have two adult children: Daughter, Amy Gibbons, who lives in Arlington, Texas, where she and her husband, Ryan, minister for the Park Row Church of Christ. They have a son, Nathan, and a daughter, Lily.

Son, Aaron Hicks and his wife, Shara, live in Austin, Texas, where Aaron works for the City of Austin as a graphic designer. They have two daughters, Madeleine and London.

In his leisure time, Jack likes to travel, watch sports of all kinds, and play chess. He has been known to go fly-fishing.

Matthew Johnson - Children's Minister
Matthew or as the kids call him, Jamba, joined us from Southern California where he began his walk with the Lord in 1997. In the fall of 1998, Matthew enrolled in Azusa Pacific University with a football scholarship and a passion for Biblical Studies. Matthew graduated in the winter of 2003 with an honor that only eight students have graduated with in the 103-year history of the school: a degree in Biblical Studies with a distinction in Biblical Literature. Matthew also graduated with a minor in both Theology and Family Psychology.

Matthew's practical work in ministry began in 1998 as a Children's Ministry Intern at Inland Hills Church in Chino Hills, CA. He also spent a summer in 2002 as a Tribe Leader Chief at Indian Village Christian Summer camp in Forest Home, CA. Matthew's first vocation as a Children's Minister came in 2004, where with the help of his new bride, Karen, they successfully rebuilt and restructured the Children's Ministry program at Crossroads Grace Community Church in Manteca, CA.

Matthew and Karen were married in October of 2004, and in September of 2007, Karen gave birth to a wonderful baby boy, Jack Diego. Matthew and Karen have been members since June of 2006.

Jeremy Harrison - Equipping Minister
Jeremy was born in Huntsville, Alabama, and was baptized into Christ as a teenager. He joined the Heritage staff in January of 2008.  His education was at Abilene Christian University and his previous ministry experience was in campus ministry and preaching. The pride and joy of his life are his wife, Holly, and their son, Luke.

John Gann - Worship Minister
John Gann is blessed to...
...be married to Joann (who skips church a lot to be in the nursery)
...be the father of Isaac, Jacob and Aaron (all great kids)
...lead worship at Heritage.

John grew up at Midtown, where he met Joann, married and started a family. When Midtown decided to move towards Small Groups, John came on staff full-time for three years to help during the transition. He later returned to the corporate side of life but remained active in ministry at Midtown. John is now supported part-time by Heritage and works full time at a local staffing company.

Belinda Bledsoe - Administrative Assistant
Belinda began work here in January, 1984. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in education, and she uses her skills as an administrative assistant publishing the weekly bulletin for Heritage and operating the Heritage Bookstore. Belinda also assists all of the ministry staff with various projects. As a single member of Heritage, she is a volunteer in the Children's Ministry and shares her love for children and their development by teaching two year olds.

Celia Rodgers - Office Manager/Financial Assistant
Celia began working with Heritage on September 26, 2005. Before then, she served for four years as the office manager with AmeriSpec Home Inspection Service where she was employed for almost eight years. Celia was born and raised in Ardmore, Oklahoma, but got to Texas as fast as she could. Celia and her husband, Floyd, have been a part of the Heritage church family since 2002. They have five children (four girls and one son) and four grandchildren. Much of their time is spent working with the youth. Celia helps keep track of all the finances and does the accounting for monies of the Heritage congregation.

Bonnie Kuhn - Administrative Assistant
Bonnie joined the support staff in August of 2003 after working for a Christian publishing company for eight years. She loves to see God at work in this place and assist wherever she can. She serves as the office receptionist and assists all of the Heritage ministers with various projects. She and her husband, Steve, have been a part of the Heritage family for the past 13 years. They have a son, Karson, and daughter, Kellsey, who have taught them so much about loving the Lord and being His children.

Eric Lewis - Full-time Maintenance
Eric was part time for a few months before he went full time in May of 2005. Prior to working at Heritage, Eric worked for Brant Engineering, a heavy industrial plumbing company. Eric was born in San Angelo, Texas, and at eight weeks old was adopted from the Abilene Christian Home by the Lewis family in Haltom City. Eric has lived in this area ever since. He served his country in the United States Army for five years. Eric and his wife, Talanda, have two children. They facilitate a small group at the church building on Sunday nights.

Ana Marquez - Full-time Custodian
Ana started working for the church part time in October 1998 and went full time in November 1998 while we were still at the old Midtown building. Ana also cleans homes in her limited spare time. Ana was born in Laredo and spent most of her growing up years there. She has three children, one girl and two boys, and has a grandson and a granddaughter. Ana is always around staying busy, making sure we have a clean and beautiful facility.

Zane Murry - Part-time Custodian
December 28, 2006, Zane Murry joined the staff here at Heritage. Zane is a student at TCC studying Business Management. Zane helps us out for special activities, weekends, and evenings. Zane was born in Dallas, Texas, spending his growing up years in Stephenville. Zane is married to Jennifer Rodgers Murry, and they have two daughters, Meagan and Ivy.
